B’s Birthday Bash

by Andrea on March 22, 2011

A few weeks ago, we headed East of the mountains to celebrate our dear friend’s birthday. The plan was to blitz her with a 24 hour celebration, and then get out of her hair so she could focus on work.  The goal was simple – make a big impact and get her mind off of the serious stuff.

Taking  inspiration from the blog world and from her favorite color, pink, we hosted our own version of One Charming Party’s Pajama Glam Party.  Featured prominently were pink, black, feathers, and bling.  While this theme was originally created for a 6 year old,  it also worked brilliantly as a girly adult party.

Some of the fun details included | Invitations: fun fonts, shimmery paper, and pink feathers that combined to make a big impression on B. Balloons:  we wanted to include both helium-filled huge balloons and small ones to kick around the floor. Cake & sparkling wine: a friend made the cake, and  it’s quite handy to know someone who knows how to manage fondant. Party favors: B ended up with a new cozy pair of pjs thanks to Em’s craftiness, and we all walked away with a lovely little sparkly flower hair clip.

We spent the night,  woke up to pink strawberry and powder sugar topped pancakes, and headed West.  All in all, a fun homemade glam weekend.
