Bits & Bobs We ♥: Fireworks

by Andrea on June 20, 2011

I love me some fireworks.

Very few things in this world beat the feeling of watching a spectacular fireworks display up above, while feeling the boom of each firework reverberate through your body.  My heart speeds up just a bit, and I feel like a kid all over again. It’s hard to deny how wondrous they are when they make adults ooh, ahh, and squeal. I find them to be very emotional and have even teared up watching one memorable display in Porto.

For today’s post, I thought it would be fun to feature firework shows from around the world.  I’m always looking for excuses to book a trip. Why not go somewhere and experience one of the best firework shows in the world?

New Year’s Eve in Sydney:

L’International des Feux Loto-Québec in Montreal (July & August):

Omagari National Fireworks in Japan (late August):

Bonfire Night, remembering Guy Fawkes in the UK (November 5):

While these shows are amazing, small town fireworks are exciting in their own way. For several years, Brian and I have spent the Fourth of July in Cle Elum, Washington. In addition to its small town parade, there’s a fun fireworks show.  Big, small, it doesn’t matter.  I just love ‘em.
