Bits & Bobs We ♥: Petunia Pickle Bottom

by Emily on June 13, 2011

I am here to confess that we are not trying to be followers. Andrea and I have had a deal for nearly 10 years (yes that’s about the time this company first started) that when one of us had a baby, the other would buy the coveted Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag.  Therefore, I’d like to rave about my bits & bobs we ♥.  This beautiful bag (my pattern below) has been a very dear part of our families for the last 2 years and just happens to be a wonderful green and brown pattern!

I don’t exactly remember where we saw this bag for the first time but we must have been together and admiring it.  The Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bags have proven to be both very functional, with wonderful pockets in every nook and cranny, as well as providing “eye-popping, sophisticated fabrics“!  I do have to say that they are an investment piece to your new mommy wardrobe but I do believe it’s a gift to a friend, family member or yourself that’s worth it.  Kudos to how PPB explains its story….

Born out of a desire to bring style and sophistication to the world of modern parenting, Petunia Pickle Bottom was founded in 2000 by a trio of people who pay homage to the chic mommy who makes a statement without saying a word.

The Boxy Backpack (Andrea’s pattern Dancing in Dublin above) is the model that we both have and as you can see, the changing mat just unzips from the front with several handy pockets to retrieve all the wipes, creams, etc.  My pattern is the brocade version with “old world looms with a subtle textured surface that yields a rich fabric with satin luster” and Andrea’s pattern is the glazed version “matte coated-canvas fabric, wipe-able, water-repellent.” I am excited to report that Sid’s very dear cousin just passed down her model – the Crosstown Clutch- to me as Pip is growing out of the full-blown diaper bag into a convenient, smaller bag since changing diapers comes fewer and far between when we’re out and about!  This has been a great quick, grab and go model for an older diaper diva!

So cute right?  And wait…..this small, trendy clutch has room for diaper goods?  Oh yeah….check out that changing mat & pockets! SCORE!

We are also happy to say that Sid & Brian don’t have a problem carrying this bag around when they’re out & about with the little ones!  But in case you’re worried about that, they do have some trendy male models available.
