Blog Fav: Bright Fabric Balls

by Emily on June 3, 2011

I was preoccupied and didn’t get my act around to participating in the Home May’d Summer Mantel Link Party, but I am desperate to get rid of my “spring” mantel and bring in some summer fun!  I saw this great post from A Pretty Life in the Suburbs where she has made bright, fun fabric balls to decorate.  I just love this idea!  For me the simplicity of work involved is a bonus right now and I love the color combination.  I was thinking you could easily buy a pack of similar fabrics in Fat Quarters and do this or dig through scraps like Joanna did.

At first glance I thought the fabric was modge-podged on or something of the sort.  After reading through the step-by-step instructions I think I’m smitten with the idea of cutting them so that you have the frayed edges, then just dabbing a bit of glue to hold it all together.  Oh…glue gun…it’s been quite some time but we’re about to get reacquainted soon!  I am also curious about the idea of having a couple of different sized balls to mix it up.

Have a great weekend!  Wishing it was another 3 day weekend!  Andrea and I are off to Bloggy Boot Camp and we’re so excited!
