Blog Fav: MADE school bags

by Emily on October 21, 2011

I just discovered a project that made my heart melt!  Dana, over at MADE, has started sewing “school bags” for her daughter’s class.  Her cute story is here about how it all started and how she timidly volunteered for the project.  Her daughter’s teacher had a great idea about making some bags (oh, just 25 of them) with different themes, objects, and learning tools inside.  Then the children could share them in the class.

When I first spotted the Tooth Fairy bag I thought it was such a cute thing to do for your own kids.  It was then that I realized the teacher was going to have this bag and let the student who lost a tooth, take it home for the night!  Kind of a celebration right?  And what a heart-warming treat for the toothless student to bring home!

And the game bag…

Isn’t it amazing how some cheap Oriental Trading Company bags can turn into such cute, trendy looking bags.  What a lucky teacher to have a master creative sewer mom in her class!  I think I’d also like to join the class!  Seems to me that teacher sure cares about her students and wants to celebrate each of them with some fun ideas and projects that they can bring home and share with their families.
