Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to share a little project that should have taken me just one quick evening but…..(insert me buying wrong products, etc).

I saw this cute idea on Pinterest first, then after my ribbon buying trip to the store which set me back almost $20, I ended up revising my idea.

I ended up going with scrap fabric that I had in my craft bin.  You may recognize some colors from my Birthday & Halloween Banner projects!

Step 1: Using the templates from The Cottage Home, I traced the wings and turkey onto double-sided Pellon paper so that it sticks to both fabrics! (This is mistake #1 I made by first buying one-sided sticky paper!)

Step #2: I put all the fabric feathers on the t-shirt and got ready to iron.

Step #3:  After ironing the feathers into place, I decided to add a bit more flair to the turkey.  I quickly sewed on a couple of pieces of ribbon to the feather arrangement.

Step #4:  Put the turkey body in place and iron to secure!

Step #5:  I did a quick embroidered stitch to make a turkey face and feet and went around all the feathers too.

Step #6: Wiggle little Pip into place!  She was surprisingly excited to put on her “gobble, gobble” shirt and then stood in front of the mirror for a bit to admire herself in it!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
