Do you ever get a craving for good Chinese take-out? Judy Fu’s Snappy Dragon is the place to go! This little gem is a local treat for us and we have always ordered it as take-out. Maybe one of these days we’ll dine-in.
Judy Fu has been awarded the Evening Magazine’s Best of Western Washington BEST Chinese for four years running and I don’t think I’ve had any better in the city. Judy was born in Northern China, raised in Taiwan, came to the US in 1972 and always worked in the restaurant business. When she came to Seattle, she worked in a number of restaurants before she started Snappy Dragon in 1993.
Located on Roosevelt Way and 89th, this Northeast Seattle delight is more than just your average Chinese fare. The homemade Chow Mein noodles are the absolute best. The texture and size of the noodles are random which adds to the authenticity. There are so many wonderful dishes that it’s worth trying it over and over and over again!
If you aren’t anywhere near their delivery area, you can always take home Judy’s famous sauces from many of your local grocery stores:

She’s also generously shared her recipes for some dishes here.
In recap, a few of our family favorites that we can stand by and recommend are: The Lunch Menu! (you get a little of everything), pot-stickers, hot & sour soup, chow mein, Jiao-zi, fried rice, crispy eggplant, Mongolian tofu, Hunan pork, Mongolian beef, sweet & sour shrimp, and these are just the traditional favorites.
Order take out, go out for on a date, bring the family, just go give Snappy Dragon a try!
