henry Whimsical Murals

by Andrea on January 25, 2012

You don’t have to spend much time in Seattle, before you notice a henry painting on the side of house, inside a café, or even on a car.

These murals, over 110 of them completed since 2008, are painted by Ryan Henry Ward and are primarily found around Seattle.  Even though he is a Seattle based artist, you can find his art in other parts of the country or for that matter, other countries around the world.

henry murals have always intrigued me with their bright colors and fancifully whimsical creatures.  I can’t help but feel cheery when seeing these paintings around town.

According to his bio, he’s been painting since the age of 3.  As a muralist, he has painted private residences, public spaces, and canvases.

The good news for you, where ever you may be, is that you can have a henry of your very own.  If you are in Seattle, check out his gallery at the Short Stop Cafe.  For those of you outside of Seattle, check out Ryan’s website for more information.
