Wellness Wednesday: How Do You Get Over a Bug?

Today is my first day back to school and I’m stuck in bed sick!  Not what I had planned for the kick start of the New Year but I’m trying to take care of myself and give one more day of rest before the madness begins tomorrow….which I can’t miss!

I enjoy reading all the New Year, New You healthy regimes filling up blog-dom and wondering just what some people do to keep themselves healthy in the event of sniffles, cold or dare I say flu?

Are you an Airborne fan?  Zinc, Vitamin C, Garlic or Vitamin D?  Or do you just swear by rest.  There are so many different theories out there to sift through I thought I’d ask you…how do you help to prevent or treat illness?

Here’s a new one that is just about the only thing that sounds good to me right now (besides a nap)… tip via WellnessMama

Cinnamon- Good for more than just stabilizing blood sugar, cinnamon is an effective antiviral and antibiotic. When sick, mix 1 tablespoon with 1 teaspoon of honey and stir to make a spicy and very effective tea that helps relieve cough and congestion and lower fever.

Here’s to hoping that this is the first and last illness of 2012!
