Bits & Bobs We ♥: Mini Milkshakes

by Andrea on May 14, 2012

This past week, Brian had to get his wisdom teeth out, and I was on the hunt for a peanut butter milkshake.  He could only have soft foods and was really craving this milkshake after surgery.  I could think of several places that made milkshakes in our neighborhood but not peanut butter flavored.  I could also think of two places that served the desired flavor, but they were at least a 25 minute roundtrip.  Hmmmm….

Then I remembered Scooter’s just down the street from us.

I’ve been past this tiny burger joint a million times but had never ventured inside.  After one quick phone call, I learned they had peanut butter milkshakes. Yahoo, off I went.  Now where this so far mundane story gets interesting, is that when I arrived, I discovered they had mini milkshakes.  Brilliant!

I don’t know about you, but it seems like at most places, at least in Seattle, you can only get milkshakes in one ginormous size – often which includes bringing the leftover milkshake that didn’t fit in the big serving cup in the even bigger metal cup that they created the milkshake in.  Usually, it’s just too much shake. Yet, at Scooters, they have figured out that some times you just want a little milkshake and for $1.95, that’s exactly what they’ll make for you. It’s pretty cute and fits perfectly in your hand.

Well, now that I’ve discovered this little gem, I can’t get enough.  For Mother’s Day yesterday, we were walking around Ballard and soaking in all of the glorious sun.  On the walk home, I wanted/needed a strawberry mini milkshake.  (That’s my favorite flavor.) Shouldn’t every place serve mini milkshakes?

So we picked up my mini, and it was thoroughly enjoyed by both me and Mo.

What a helpful little guy, he kept wanting to help me finish my shake.

Hope everyone had a lovely Mother’s Day!
